I think Academic is a full version of FCP, but I could be wrong. The only difference is that you can't upgrade the academic version.

It's all about the deck settings. Make sure that you don't have a tape in the deck when changing the settings. I will have to double check your posted settings to make sure that you got it all. This is definitely possible though.
