making a fast Valentine's heart

Quickly whipping out a nice Valentine's heart is quite easy:
Make a sphere with 24x24 divisions. Color it red with some specularity.
Delete one half.
Squash to taste on Z-axis.
Use the SHEAR tool to distort the hemisphere.
MIRROR across the Y to make your heart.
MERGE POINTS.
For extra smoothness, turn on SUBPATCHING (TAB). Export to Layout.
The tastiest lighting involves putting 4 lights beaming at the various corners of the heart. I like to give the two bottom lights some color: blue and purple make nice highlights.
Then use an appropriate texture map on the heart to personalize for your SO! Happy Valentine's Day.
