Various things may cause this, some that come to mind are.
What are your Livetype and FCP sequence settings? Do they match?
When I have text from Livetype that looks a bit blurry it is usually because my FCP Sequence Settings and Livetype Project Properties are not in sync. Livetype SD → FCP HD, Livetype HD 720 → FCP HD 1080, Frame rates etc...

A simple way to check frame size in Livetype is to place a movie from your sequence in Livetype by:
File>Place Background Movie
look for a quicktime of a shot from your current project and hit Open
Compare background movie with Text in Livetype

hope that helps

Victor
