No, I think Chris wants to animate a straight line into a curved line (the line forming the base of the text). The text isn't moving (other than to form the "u."), and my answer still holds, I know of no way to animate the shape of the text line in LiveType without using the x y offset and rotation on each glyph (letter). which is very time consuming and probably won't come out very well anyway. You can do this in both Motion and After Effects.
