No letters just wireframe

Greetings,
Although I just registered here, I have found good knowledge coming from this forum.
I am not so new to LT, but I have recently found that on my MacBook Pro, that when I type in letters for LT, it is only showing what looks like wireframe symbols.
It doesn't matter whether or not it is a regular font or Livetype font.
I don't know how to address this issue.
My settings in Project Properties are not set to wireframe.
Could it have anything to do with Fontbook?
Both systems running latest versions.
LT runs fine on my desktop, but my laptop has a bit more power and I would rather utilize it.
Any ideas are welcomed.
Thanks!
Hanuman
