Hey there,

After searching several forums and coming up empty handed after trying a couple ways, I've decided to post!

I am in the process of finishing my short film and are unhappy with the final text results when I look at my digibeta master. There is a noticeable flicker within the characters when viewing on both an SD and HD monitor. The text placement holds, but the white inside doesn't seem to hold 100%

The sequence in FCP 6.0.3 is uncompressed 10-bit codec / CCIR 601 NTSC 720x486 / 29.97, captured with those settings from a digibeta deck.

The livetype text is also CCIR NTSC 720x486, 29.97. It is just white text, Times New Roman font, on a black background, which I've chosen to not render in LT.

First time around, I just imported the live type file (.icq) into FCP, and set opacity at 82% - which worked fine for the MPEG2 DVD, but not the Digibeta output...

I've just tried "render movie" in LT, then choosing to export that movie as uncompressed 10-bit, imported into FCP, set at 82% opacity...but can't see a bit of difference.

Does anyone know how to get pristine quality titles for an uncompressed 10-bit output to digibeta? Or am I just stuck with lackluster titles because I'm not using After Effects?

Thanks a million.

-Sean
