Replacing System Drive & RAID
by Bob Cole on Nov 6, 2009 at 1:26:34 pm

Thanks Frank. Could you point me to the place on the SmartSound website where the Network Edition is described further? I only see the 4.5 version.
But I'm not sure the Network Edition would help. When I use the laptop, it's for editing on-location, with an external firewire drive that holds both the SonicFire program and the music files. I don't want to risk using that external drive to hold all the music files on a day-to-day basis - I'd rather use the RAID.

Related question: In the next month I'll be replacing the system drive, and also installing a new RAID, for my MacPro. I currently run Tiger. When I replace the system drive I plan to do a "clean install" of Snow Leopard. So: new system drive, new OS, new RAID.

Currently, SmartSound Express Edition is on the "old" system drive and the music files are on the "old" RAID. How can I avoid having to reload each music disk? I make annotations in the "Notes" field of the SmartSound Express Edition when I search for music, and I'd like to keep those if possible.

Thanks - your Tech Support at SmartSound is terrific.

Bob C
