The problem with Mail is that its not setup for corporate environments. That is, it does not do Exchange servers at all. Your only choice is to use Entourage or Office 2011 for Mac. Microsoft was smart on this one... Apple is tight on their software and hardware, just as Microsoft is with their software.
Now, I do find it funny that my iPhone does Exchange mail just fine, BUT, MacOS X Mail cannot. Go figure.
If you don't fit into this category, you're fine with what you've got.
