Documents folder closes right away
by Oliver Peters on Oct 28, 2009 at 2:30:47 pm

When I try to open the user Documents folder from the Finder window sidebar or by navigating to it via the User path, the icons don't appear at first and the Finder window immediately closes. This is when I first open the folder after start-up. It is in Column View.

This behavior happens for several attempts and then after 4 or 5 times, settles down and works correctly. Same issues when I have the Documents folder on the dock. Same if I try to open with the shortcut (cmd-shift-O).

I have zapped the PRAM and trashed Dock and Finder preferences, but this doesn't fix the problem. It's a new machine with a clean install of SL. I had been running iAntiVirus, but removed it (using the supplied uninstaller), thinking that there was a relationship. I thought this because the behavior of the Finder window closing right away would often be accompanied with the iAntiVirus window opening. Removing the app hasn't made any difference. Thoughts?
