._is ._there ._any ._way ._to ._stop ._osx ._from ._doing ._this ._thing?

Hi guys,

I use FCP and therefore OSX, but find I am constantly tidying up after my mac as it seems to pollute any PC/phone/non-osx device with all these ._files which basically make it twice as hard to find anything.

Is there some way of preventing this from happening?
