"Yes you can BUT it MUST be done from disks that came with the EXACT SAME MODEL computer. NO other disks will contain the drivers needed for the hardware of that machine. A retail 10.6 install disk will NOT work ether as the build of the OS on those disks is OLDER then the machine you are trying to put it on and therefore will NOT contain the needed drivers for the NEWER hardware. "
