Jeremy GarchowFinder running a bit slow
by on Aug 3, 2009 at 9:43:05 pm

Over the past few days, I have noticed that the Finder is running slow on my MacPro (8 core 3.0 Ghz, pre2008).

Running all the latest software updates (10.5.7 et al).

Repaired permissions, zapped PRAM.

An example of running slow is that when browsing in column view, the columns are taking a long time (4-5 seconds) to show the contents.

ALso, when making a new folder with finder, I will hit the key command and it will give me a folder after the same delay, then instead of 'untitled folder' being highlighted so I can change the name, it is already deselected.

Any ideas? Not a deal breaker, but rather annoying.
