I went to school and live in Philadelphia PA - Even though this is one of the biggest college cities in the US, the only school I know of here that has a good game design program is the Art Institute. They have campuses in many other cities as well - seattle, chicago... aw heck - here's the link:

I went to University of the Arts, which has a good media & communication major, part of which includes game design, but it also focuses on web design & graphic design.
