C/Finesse "save reference image" not working in AE CS3

Does anyone have a solution to problem of CF 2.1.6 plug-in for AE doing nothing at all when Clip>Save Reference Image is used (Windows XP/AE CS3)? No window requesting 'save as file name' etc appears. The only oddity about my CF installation is a 'multiple copies of Color Finesse installed' message I get when AE is started up. Thx guys
