Particular 1.5 - Waterfall

Hi everybody.
I'm trying to do a waterfall with particular but my result is pretty "plastic" and seems very very computer generated.
Do you have some tips for me?
I downloaded Mike Park's project but i don't have CS4 so i can't open it.
