Thanks for your response. In playing around with this I'm beginning to suspect that the problem has something to do with the
particle size paramater that I'm using. When the size is scaled up to 100 or 150 There will be popping, when it's lower, say below 25, things look smoother. I haven't used particular long enough to know if that would make sense in terms of how it handles the files. If I'm unable to resolve this I will take you up on your offer and send you the project and pict.
