I'm pretty sure the hotfix isn't going to do anything (it fixes four unrelated bugs). You need to consider that mental ray satellite will default to port 7003 and will probably still render; it's not a bug, merely a misconfiguration.

It's not clear to me if your scene renders if you don't use satellite. Does it?
