Want to sell my camera and get HD

I don't have THAT much money saved up, but I'm going to start saving now. I have a Canon XL2, which is probably like 4-5 years old. I bought it new, and it's still in fine condition, but there's a short in the DV / firewire port on it. Is there a place that would still buy it, and, if so, how much would I get?

Also, does anyone know of any cheaper HD models that are out with at least a single XLR port for boom mics, etc? Links and advice would be appreciated.
