safari video camera suggestion

Hello All,

I have a student who will be taking a trip to Africa this summer. She's doing the traditional safari and climbing Mt. K with her dad. She wants to make a video out of the experience (which I think is a wonderful idea) but isn't sure what kind of camera she should get. What do you all recommend? She's a tough but petite girl (small frame) and I don't want to burden her with something heavy. On the other hand, I think she definitely needs something durable. I think her budget is flexible, and we'll be doing the editing when she returns in FCP. Suggestions?
