Photoshop CS2 Sluggish/lagging while working?

Hmm.. love the new features so far. I was playing with my new copy of Photoshop CS2 last night and while experimenting with some techniques, I noticed it was slow just using the marquee tool, or text tool sometimes. HAs anyone else experienced this lag or sluggish performance? I am on a P4 3.06 Ghz machine with 2 GIG of RAM... I would assume I should not have any problems. I changed my srcatch disk to a different drive as well. Any suggestions?
