thanks for replying!

to answer your questions:
- 'big fat HD files' are just from DSLR, HDV or full HD from EX1, F3 or the such.
- yeah, at least 2 of the editors will be working at the same time, 100% of the time with the third being on/off.

someone on other forum said that my requirements would need a hefty investment as it can easily become a tangled mess of files everywhere...
