Thomas - First, Happy Holidays to you and yours.

I want to let you know that:
a) The malware did not corrupt the partition information - It merely turned on the 'hidden' attribute which obviously, hid all of the files from view. An associate gave me a copy of the ULTIMATE BOOT CD which led to my finding and correcting the hidden attribute.

b) A different (and obviously more intelligent) DELL engineer confirmed what you posted though, it was off-the-record.

c) I am very happy to report that I have upped the memory to 12 GB (4 x 1 GB and 2 x 4 GB) in the WS690 and am currently installing Windows 7 Pro.

d) This system is super tricked out as you made reference to the 690's capability with Black Magic Card, four (4) internal Sata Drives (on HDD0 to 3), 1 Blu-Ray (on SATA1 port), DVD/CD DL +/- RW on PATA1 with dual 3.0 ghz Xeon Processors, eSata/Sata controller with 2 addition internal Sata and 2 eSata ports with Raid 0/1 capability in addition to the RAID 0,1,5 that is internal to the 690.

We've had this system for almost 4 years now and DELL was shocked when I ordered it initially and their engineers who have helped solve some technical problems were always impressed with its performance.

Joel
It is a work
