Unfortunately we only run a 32bit OS and I don't really see that changing as we are only a very small company and only got this version not long ago. So that means a max of for gig, which I know isn't amazing but unfortunately that's that :/

As for hard drive, currently the OS and Vegas run from a 300gig sata WD Cavlier Blue and the video files are stored on our NAS. I did read something about this, having another hard drive with just the files on - is this actually going to benefit? As I say we are a small company so keeping costs to a minimum (whilst also getting a performance boost) is top priority for my MD. Would a simple drive do? Something like this?

Or (for the sole purpose of reading the video files) would a higher performance drive make a noticable difference, such as this?

And am I actually able to use a 2.5" hard drive in a normal PC or is this specifically for a laptop?

Thanks again for the help! :)
