I have to agree:

Ditch this machine. For $500 you can get a newer, much faster, pre-built system from Dell or HP or someone, and get the right deal they will throw in a nice new flat screen LCD monitor. With the stats on your computer it sounds like you have a 15 inch CRT (tv style) monitor =)

Even a new, cheap laptop will be faster than what you have now, and you can get an OEM version of Office for a discount with most new computers.

Make friends with one of us computer dorks... we talk strange languages, interface with computers better than we do humans, and we tend to give away old hardware when we upgrade. Its how my friends get their new computers, I give away hardware more powerful than what you have! I have gigs and gigs of RAM laying around that would likely work in your system. And most of us computer dorks can always use more friends and less time in front of our supermachines =)
