Thanks for your replies,

Thomas - I think you're in agreement with some others I've heard from. A couple guys have a dual-boot system with one partition for XP & video editing stuff only, the other is for XP and all the other stuff, incl internet activity. I will probably try that in the future though I've tried to set up dual-boot before with different OS's, not much luck...maybe different with 2 XP's. (they also said no liscensing issues on same machine)
maybe if I get laid-off I'll have time to learn it...

Mike - I may try your slash and burn approach and see what happens.
