WMVs stop with error when WMP is in full screen mode

I am not sure if anyone will be able to help, but I am having an a bit of an odd issue with Windows Media Player. I can play WMVs just fine in Windows Media Player just fine except when I try to go full screen, it gives an error saying 'Windows Media Player cannot play the video because there is a problem with your video card'. This happens with wmvs, no matter what the source.

The strange thing about the error message is that Windows Media Player had a perfectly fine time playing the videos when they weren't in full screen mode, why should this be any different? Real Player seems to have difficulty playing the wmvs sometimes.

Plus, Windows Media Player is able to play all the other video formats it should no matter what. For example, if I open up an avi file, I can play it in full screen mode with no trouble.

I run Windows Vista on my computer, as it was the operating system my laptop came with and I am not looking uninstall it in favor of XP. This is one of the only quirks I have encountered really thus far. I would guess that it has really nothing to do with operating system in itself.

I also am running the latest version of Windows Media Player. I have had no trouble with my video card, so I am not sure why Windows Media Player would claim such a problem exists.
