Re: Macintosh hardware under Windows OS environment?

Okay, Mike. Seeing as how you've fixed most of my near-dead experiences this month, how would you go about fixing the following?

Vista is turning out to be a pretty reliable workspace give or take a few headaches, but this one is a HUGE issue for me. I reinstalled the entire OS to a brand new hard disk and it ran flawlessly. One by one, I installed the drivers as necessary to get the level of performance that I needed for work. Everything was hunky-dory until I hit the Creative Soundlabs Extigy. Creative has officially dropped support for Extigy with the release of Windows Vista as the "new OS architecture makes the Extigy obsolete". So, without using my melon, I tried to install the drivers from the XP Pro CD and the audio that worked so well with Windows' own generic driver was killed. Not only can I not get system restore to reset the driver, but even after deleting every possible reference in the system registry, the originl driver WILL NOT reinstall.

How do I get the original Windows' sound driver to reload so that I can hear ANYTHING out of this box?
