Macintosh hardware under Windows OS environment?

Just a quick, non-emergency question.
I am using an older video card that was originally available under the Apple AND Microsoft banners, but it eventually wained in sales on the PC side. Would Windows XP load a generic driver to make the card work, or do I need to code one out myself?
There are no known driver updates since 2000 and the most recent onces seem to conflict with DirectX 9.0c.
Thanks again...
