MIKE!!! Where do I send the 6-pack?

The process wasn't flawless, but after reinstalling Win XP Pro OVER the Win Vista OS, I went to DOS (running from a CD) and copied my "programs", "documents" and "windows" directories completely intact. I set the transfer to overwrite only exact files and leave other untouched, and upon reboot, the thing buzzed to life.

I lost my additional peripheral hardware, but reinstallation of the core drivers was successful in restoring their function. I also lost my authentication from Microsoft but a quick log-in at their site authenticated my original install and now I'm stumbling through life as a happy XP user again.

God Bless you and thanks...
