Looking for some help from somebody with experience using TMPGEnc. For a long list of boring and complicated reasons, I am tied to TMPG and constant bitrate encoding for one particular client. My delivery is muxed MPEG2 files (again, CBR). Acquisition is usually from Sony FX or Z1U, and edit DV files in FCP 6 or 7 depending on workstation.

For the life of me, I can't seem to get anything approaching acceptable quality out of TMPGEnc. I'm getting just horrible blocking artifacts, and I've tried every thing I can think of: bitrate, de-interlacing algorithm, etc. Nothing seems to help.

I know this encoder has a great reputation, I just can't seem to get it to perform.

My basic template is here: http://www.box.com/signup/collablink/d_240489143/3450045a567ca

Any ideas?
