sony Architect 5.0 Hotspots creation

Does anyone know how to create HOTSPOT on a background image and use that as a link? My work around for now is to use a navigation button and fading completely out using the keyframes and the alpha slider.
What I have had to do is create all my menus outside Architect to display exactly like I would like but then after all the hard work am left with poor options after importing. The new feature call "transformations" is almost useless and not very friendly. You'd think that the same tools in Vegas 8 would be available in Architect.
Appreciate any intelligent input and advice. Thanks
