Creating Rain Drop Ripples on Water

I'm trying to create rain falling on to water and have it ripple. I can figure out how to make an indivual ripple, but I'm not sure how to make each rain drop, or the majority of rain drops have ripples. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions.
