Smooooothing Animation

"How do I" really smooth out an animated figure in motion? Played with the curves in the graph editor, adjusted keyframes in the timeline, adjusted the motion paths and still there are spots that need smoothing. Using kinematics (parenting), effector layers and expressions to control the figure. It seems like I am either hypercritical or missing an industry secret.
