Since you mentioned device manager, I'm going to assume that you're using a PC. Have you tried plugging the Adrenaline into a different firewire port? It's possible your port is being funny.

What operating system, and what computer are you using? Any information on your system will help. If you suspect a missing driver, it might not be a bad idea to uninstall media composer, restart your system and then reinstall it.
