Stef PreinPanasonic P2 import in Avid MC 6

Hi!

I'm totally new to Avid MC. I couldn't really find a satisfying answer to my question, but maybe there already is a thread that covers my issue...

I'm trying to import footage from a P2 card (which is inside a camera) into Media Composer 6. Getting it inside a bin using Media Tool works out, but then the files are still on the P2 card. What I need is to move the footage to my hdd and edit from there.

What I kinda figured out is this: import the footage to a bin using Media Tools. Then consolidate the footage to the Avid MediaFiles folder. The delete the .old links to the files on the P2 card.

Is this the correct way?
