I don't know what you usually edit on but I feel your pain. I used everything under the sun before I used avid. It was a big learning curve for its style of editing but once you get used to things and the get the program the way you want, its not too bad. The best thing about Avid really, is its real time editing, after that its pretty terrible. Call me crazy for simple editing Sony Vegas is amazing.
