There is also an 'audio follow video' selection in the pulldown menu of the source monitor (click on the clip name). This will let you edit your good audio into the sequence, then you can cut trim and chop to your hearts content. Keep in mind, if you keep this on when you start editing, you'll edit the bad audio as well.
