Question about Avid Xpress Pro video import.

Question about Avid Xpress Pro video import.
I am using Avid Express Pro on an iMac system. I have a DVCPRO deck model number Panasonic AJ-SD255, connected via firewire. When I use DVCPRO tapes Avid has no problem, however when I go to import MINIDV tapes using our adapter, Avid does not show Video or Audio, but it does read the time code. The adaptor model is Panasonic Cassette Adapter AJ-CS455P. This is really strange to me especially considering the MINIDV Adaptor works perfectly in iMovie, and while being viewed in our monitor. Bottom Line, the minidv adaptor works, but not in Avid. Is there a setting in my deck or in Avid that I need to attend to? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you.
