Avid XDcam proxy audio issues

I work with an Avid Adrenaline and a Media Composer.
I shoot everything on XDCam, standard definition.
When importing low res proxy files from disc for off-line with a Sony PDW- F70 deck, the proxy audio is obviously not 48k and has a lower quality sound, when playyed back in Avid.
This low res audio is resistant to EQ changes too.
Is there a setting to allow me to import my proxy field footage, but have the hi res audio be linked to it.
I want this because upon importing every sequence at 1:1, the audio must be checked and mixed again. If the high res audio is in the Avid upon the initial low res proxy import, i would save a lot of time. I never had this issue when digitizing from tapes at low res.
please help!!
