avid xpress dv 3.0

Hey all. I need some help here. I am using a Sony GV-D1000 DV Cassette recorder. I use avid xpress dv 3. I recently had to restore my editing system and now found out that avid no longer provides update patches for version 3. I am running windows 2000. While i am in avid i have tried using generic drivers and avid will not read the tape. Anybody know where i can get the avid dv 3 updates or how i can fix this problem. Any help would be much appreciated.
