Kstherine,
SD video is 720 X 480 for DV, 720 X 486 for D1 (Beta SP, etc.) at 72 dpi. If you want to go higher rez with it, software programs like Photoshop can interpolate the image, but don't expect great results. You can google for programs that claim to do this well.
