AVID Adrenaline machine control

I'm setting up an Adrenaline that someone gave us and since i'm not familiar with it and have no manuals and the editor doesn't remember how it got hooked up, i'm just simply wondering how you hook up machine control. Do i need a usb to 9pin to get to a beta sp deck from the G5 itself or go through the breakout box to the beta deck? stupid easy question but he didn't seem to supply such a cable or any cable for machine control that i can see. thx.
