Littleflick Pictures is saying goodbye to the camera that got us started. We're selling our Sony HVR-Z1U videocamera kit and accessories.
We used the camera for our first short film, "The Cramshaft Meeting", which screened at the 2006 Moondance International Film Festival. And the camera also captured all of our footage for our 2007 feature-length collection, "Release The Funny", which has been featured at eleven film festivals around the country.
But enough about our films...what about the camera?
We purchased the camera in 2005, but it's only been used for our films and a few other professional projects. The hours meter shows that the camera has been in operation for 710 hours, drum run for 320 hours, and tape run for 210 hours. Very limited use for three years, and always by professionals. Almost all footage shot with this camera has been on Sony Professional miniDVCAM tapes (I can't remember using any other tape, but it's possible).
The camera has very minor cosmetic damage, but is in perfect working condition. It's never been in the shop, and has never needed servicing.
All the accessories that came with the camera are included (AC Adapter, A/V cable, Component Video cable, battery, remote control, and the manual). In addition, we've included several other accessories:
-a 72mm UV filter to protect the camera lens; the lens hood fits right over it, so you never need to take it off
-a 72mm Tiffen Circular Polarizer filter; essential for shooting blue skies and dialing out reflections and glares
-a PortaBrace PB2550 hard case with pull-out handle and wheels; the camera and all the accessories fit in this case, which meets the FAA size requirements so you can carry it on an airplane
So if this camera is so great, why are we selling it?
A. We're between film projects, and we're looking to upgrade to a higher-quality camera, possibly a RED-ONE.
B. For any projects we do in the next few months, we have friends with cameras we can borrow or rent.
Finally, the price. The camera and all the accessories are available for $2500 or best offer, plus shipping (we're in Buffalo, New York). You'll find this camera for sale at most reputable websites for over four grand, and that doesn't include the filters or the hard case (over $200 value!) As an added bonus, we'll include a copy of our feature-length collection "Release The Funny" on DVD.
You can contact Littleflick Pictures at 716-713-0974.
