No sound when i import jvc files from hardrive

No sound when i import jvc files from hardrive

i have a hard drive JVC camcorder and if i import the files into power director you can see the movie but no sound. and if i go into my computer and then find the camcorder and drag the file out of the camcorder you cant play it because it is a .MOD file.. can you give me some suggestions on what i should do
