Hey... I have the Z7 (which is the same except removable lens). I'm not sure if you are in AUTO or MAN, but I'd try shooting something in AUTO to see if the camera can even figure out what's happening on its own. If you still have the issue, check the gain limit setting. In auto, it'll bypass the switch on the side.
The only time I've had any real grain issues are when its in AUTO and there is no limit set to cap the auto gain (like +16 or whatever). This camera will try to shoot in any situation, and in auto it likes to crank up the gain. I always leave my camera capped at -3... all the time.
