I don't know about PCs, but with my Mac, the footage will ingest from the MRC1 recording unit via Final Cut 'Log and Transfer' as HDV or SD, but _not_ as ProRes. (Either way,I copy my CF card files to another folder on my hard drive for ingestion.)

If I want to ingest the footage as ProRes, I rename sequentially any files that should be connected, and then use ClipWrap 'Join Selected Clips' (in the Clip menu) to ingest the sequential files with no breaks.

Note that the ClipWrap tech wrote to me a week ago:
"trying to join clips that weren't recorded as part of a single shot could introduce artifacts."
