sony hd handycam camcorder hdr-xr550v/HDR-XR520V review for media professional use

Hoping to get some reviews or ideas about the new 'sony hd handycam camcorder hdr-xr550v/HDR-XR520V'

I'm an independent video producer. I'm planning an international trip, creating some mini-docs for web broadcast (primarily). I really want to move to HD and am considering both cost, quality and travel ease of this camera. Though I plan to distribute my mini-docs over web anyway I really want to have them ready for HD.

The hdr-xr550v/HDR-XR520V shoots in
Format : HD: MPEG4 AVC/H.264; SD: MPEG2
Video Signal : HD: 1920 x 1080/60i (FX & FH modes); SD: NTSC color, EIA standards

Decent enough...i love H.264 myself...but will the look hold up on blue-ray, or broadcast?

Has anyone shot anything with this camera in a professional setting? Has anyone worked with the mic input to capture good sound? How does the footage do being transferred to computer for editing(FCP)?

I currently own a Panasonic DVX-100B and it's an awesome prosumer SD camera. And am wondering which would be best...stay in SD 720x480 or go with a very scaled down HD camcorder?
