You may have to change the firewire driver, goto the device manager and select the host controller thats under the "IEEE1394 Bus Host Controller listing", then select the driver tab, then select "update driver", don't do automatic search select browse, then pick for list, select "legacy controller", if that doesn't work you may have to go back through the process and uncheck "show compatible hardware box" and select the driver for the firewire chipset thats in your computer.
