Like mentioned the HD1000 is a single chip cam, basically a HC-7 in a different case, If you want a cam along the price line of the HD1000e and shoulder mount you might want to look at Pansonic's AG-HMC71eu, its a 3 CCD 1/4.1", it has XLR inputs where the HD1000 doesn't only thing its tapeless, SD cards
