Michael SpikesHVR-V1U & Component Out...
by on Jul 30, 2009 at 3:22:00 am

I recieved a few Sony HVR-V1U's for my classroom and they are great. However, I'm having a small problem when trying to output SD footage from my editor (An iMac Firewire Out from FCP) to my camera (the VHR-V1U), and then to my monitor (A 32" Westinghouse LCD HDTV) VIA the Component (RGB) out cable that came with the camera. The footage will come out of the camera, but it vibrates badly, like there's a problem with the refresh rate of my TV or something like that.... I've tried it with multiple other LCD HD TV's and i'm getting the same result.

BTW: This only happens when I take footage directly from the computer to the camera. I don't get the shake when watching a Mini-DV tape recorded in HD or SD, nor does the footage shake on the camera's LCD screen or viewfinder when playing back from the computer.

I already know that the camera will not send SD signals coming in from the iLink cable through it's HDMI port, but I would like to get the best (as I can get) output to what I'm using as my monitor

Thanks!
